Dr. Paul D’Agostino
Über
Paul D'Agostino promovierte an der Western Sydney University über die vergleichende Genomik und Proteomik toxigener Cyanobakterien. Nach seiner Promotion arbeitete er im Labor von Prof. Brett Neilan an der University of New South Wales an der Biosynthese von cyanobakteriellen Toxinen. Im Jahr 2016 wechselte er in das Labor von Prof. Tobias Gulder an der Technischen Universität München, zunächst als TUM Foundation Fellow und dann als Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow. Im Jahr 2019 setzte er seine Tätigkeit bei Prof. Gulder an der Technischen Universität Dresden fort und ist weiterhin Mitglied der Gruppe am HIPS.
Während seiner Postdoc-Zeit hat Paul an der Entwicklung der Direct Pathway Cloning (DiPaC) Strategie mitgearbeitet. Derzeit beschäftigt er sich mit der Genomsequenzierung und dem Genom-Mining von Cyanobakterien, um kryptische Stoffwechselwege zu identifizieren, gefolgt von DiPaC und heterologer Expression zur Entdeckung neuer Naturstoffe.
