Jana Duschka studied pharmacy at Saarland University. During her studies, she completed an internship at HIPS in the department of Microbial Natural Products of Prof. Rolf Müller, where she worked on the heterologous expression of new antimicrobial natural products.

During her practical year, Jana worked at the Uniklinik Würzburg on the bacterial expression of proteins and their immobilization on cell surfaces using Click Chemistry.

After successfully obtaining her license to practice pharmacy in 2022, she worked in a public pharmacy in Würzburg. Jana works on her PhD at HIPS since August 2024. Her research focuses on the off-target evaluation of active compounds using proteomics and bioanalytical approaches.
