About

Simon obtained his Bachelor's degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence with a minor in Molecular Biology from Saarland University in 2024. That same year, he entered the PhD preparatory phase at the Saarbrücken Graduate School of Computer Science under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andreas Keller. His research focuses on developing innovative computational approaches for analyzing single-cell and spatial transcriptomics datasets, with an emphasis on understanding the molecular mechanisms of brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases. At the end of 2024, he additionally pursued research internship at BGI Research in Shenzhen (China), working on various projects related to spatiotemporal transcriptomics.
