Simone Rosinus

About

Simone Rosinus studied chemistry at Saarland University in Saarbrücken and earned her Master's degree in the Institute of Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Christian Ducho. Her doctoral thesis, which she completed in 2025, built on her Master's thesis and focused on the design and synthesis of muraymycin nucleoside antibiotics.

Since March 2025, Simone has been working at HIPS, where she is mainly involved in establishing the hollow fiber infection model (HFIM) as a standard system for the evaluation of new natural product antibiotics, the investigation of pharmacokinetics, and the assessment of synergistic effects of drug combinations. She is also working on the validation of screening tools and the chemical optimization of scaffold structures.
