About

Taizong Wu studied pharmacy at Nanchang University from 2008-2012 as an undergraduate. Then he started his journey to natural products chemistry in Sun Yat-Sen University, where he earned his master degree in 2015. After working in the Patent Examination Cooperation Center of the Patent Office in China for a couple of years, Taizong Wu moved to The University of Queensland (UQ) to reignite his passion on natural products under the supervision of Prof. Robert Capon, supported by a UQ Research Training Program scholarship in 2018. He completed his Ph.D in 2022 and subsequently continued his research in UQ as a postdoctoral fellow in the following year. In 2024, Taizong Wu joined Prof. Rolf Müller’s group at the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland (HIPS), Germany sponsored by an Alexander Von Humboldt Postdoctoral grant. Currently, his research focuses on new antiinfectives discovery from microbial secondary metabolites and biosynthetic pathway elucidation of structurally interesting compounds.
